Welcome to our school website. The Sisters of Mt. Carmel established St. Elizabeth School as an all-girl boarding school in 1876. As the years passed the school became co-ed and was purchased by the Diocese of Baton Rouge. Numerous buildings have been added, and renovations have taken place. The school has continued to thrive and provide students in grades PreK 3 to grade 8 with a quality Catholic education.
Our mission states that St. Elizabeth School promotes a Catholic Christian family devoted to spiritual growth and academic excellence in a caring and safe environment. Our students attend Mass once a week to participate in the liturgical life of the Church throughout the year. We follow the Diocese of Baton Rouge Schools Office Curriculum Standards along with implementing best practices to meet the needs of our students. We have also integrated the use of technology to enhance educational opportunities. The 3rd through 5th-grade students each have access to a school-provided laptop for use during the school day. The 6th through 8th students are given a Chromebook as an added resource for instruction such as with their science textbook, which is on line providing easy access and better preparation. Students have opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities such as sports, Beta Club, and participating in the Science Olympiad.
The faculty at St. Elizabeth strives for excellence! They will go out of their way to help their students and communicate regularly with parents. They keep current on education practices through conferences, workshops, and summer continuing education courses. We are proud to house the Blessed Margaret of Castillo REACH program for students with exceptionalities. We embrace God’s call to educate all students.
I am honored to be the principal of St. Elizabeth Interparochial School. I hope you will take a few minutes to learn more about our community. Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
With God’s blessing,
